The chronological order of events within a story is the order in which things happen. A story usually begins by introducing characters and the problem they will encounter in the story. The action of the story rises through a series of events until the problem, or conflict, comes to a resolution. As the story unfolds, characters usually undergo a change as they respond to conflict. All of these events, with the conflict and resolution as a central idea, make up the plot of a story.
